This is a remote-first role, where you collaborate through our virtual office and stay closely connected with colleagues, with the option to work one day per week in a shared office in Ghent. Candidates must be based in Flanders.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess
- A master’s degree in computer science, computational biology, bio-engineering or a related field, with a preference for a PhD.
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills

- Technological curiosity and passion for continuous improvement
- Fluency in English
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with academics, pharma industry R&D, and research centres to develop and maintain (multi) omics data workflows for biotech R&D projects, with a focus on long-term partnerships rather than temporary staff augmentation.
- Deliver high-quality, maintainable code and sustainable R&D solutions, with a strong focus on reproducibility, maintainability and real-world usability.
- Participate in both internal R&D and client projects, utilising your unique talents, knowledge and skills to contribute to the company’s success while maintaining a strong customer-centric focus.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by both mentoring colleagues and actively learning from them.
- Build long-term relationships with our clients based on trust, mutual success and pleasant collaboration.
Required Biological Skills
- Experience with omics technologies, large-scale dataset processing and multimodal data integration
- Solid understanding of the underlying molecular biology
- Experience with bioinformatics databases, resources and data formats
Required IT Technical Skills
- Expertise in the Nextflow workflow management system
- Expertise in containerization (e.g., Docker, Singularity)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, R)
- Experience using Git
- Good knowledge of Linux-based operating systems, libraries and tools
Nice-to-Have Skills
- High-performance computing environments
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
- Proficiency in programming languages Javascript and/or Rust
- Strategic thinking with knowledge of computer architectures
- Experience with DevOps
